My Work
ABOUT MY METHOD:
I work nonjudgmentally to help each person make life changes. It is important to me that I understand each person, that I “get them,” in order for us to work together to start making those changes and to thrive. I incorporate tuning into an individual’s strengths and helping to develop new ones. I also work with                                     and other helping professionals who are working through burnout and other challenges that come up from being of service to others.

Depression Therapists

MY SERVICES:
In addition to talk therapy, I use mind-body and cognitive behavioral approaches depending on each person’s needs. This includes the use of trauma therapies such as EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and DBT-informed therapy. I see adults individually and as needed, incorporate spouses, partners and other family members to enhance individual treatment. When appropriate, I provide EMDR as an adjunct treatment for people already in therapy with their primary therapists who do not use EMDR.
EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION AND REPROCESSING (EMDR):
EMDR is a powerful and effective treatment for various traumas that include a threat to one’s physical existence/integrity and traumatic relationship difficulties. For more detail, please refer to www.EMDR.com.
SENSORIMOTOR PSYCHOTHERAPY:
This powerful therapy helps to address and heal the disconnect between the physical patterns caused by traumatic experiences and the mind. This includes exploring the sensations, thoughts, body movements linked to trauma stored in the nervous system and body from various types of trauma. For more detail, please refer to www.sensorimotorpsychotherapy.org.

DIALECTICAL BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (DBT) – INFORMED TREATMENT:
DBT combines components of talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness. DBT helps people gain skills to help manage moments wherein it seems as if their emotions control them. People may need skills with getting a better sense of self, coping with interpersonal problems, controlling the urge to act upon impulse or managing having grown up in an invalidating environment. To fully provide DBT, a therapist should see clients both in weekly groups and in weekly individual therapy. At this moment, I do not offer groups but still provide DBT skills therapy for individuals when appropriate. If someone seeking DBT needs both group and individual therapy, then I will work with them in finding the right provider. For more detail on DBT, please refer to www.behavioraltech.org.

I accept cash, checks and major credit cards via Square and PayPal.  Please contact me regarding fees and insurance."
